Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) April 6, 2008 -- SteelEye Technology, Inc.(steeleye.com), a provider of award-winning continuous data protection solutions that deliver data replication and disaster recovery services for Windows, Linux and virtual infrastructures, today released LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange 2007 v6.2. This new protection suite consists of three components in a single solution addressing all areas of Microsoft Exchange 2007 business continuity.

SteelEye LifeKeeper provides application and system level monitoring and recovery of Microsoft Windows servers. The Exchange 2007 Application Recovery Kit extends the functionality of LifeKeeper to include monitoring and disaster recovery of Microsoft Exchange and SteelEye Data Replication provides synchronous or asynchronous block level volume replication of Exchange data. It also includes Continuous Data Protection (CDP), allowing data to be re-wound to any point in time.

"Microsoft Exchange is integral to an organization's day-to-day operation. For many companies, an hour of Exchange downtime can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost productivity," said Garrett Gafke, President and CEO of SteelEye. "Whether it's an IT manager at a small business or a large enterprise seeking to protect their Microsoft Exchange 2007 messaging infrastructure - or an OEM, ISV or a value-added service provider - our products are cost-effective and flexible; designed to deliver key data and application protection services that assure business continuity to all customers anytime and anywhere."

Top features in LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange 2007 v6.2 include:

Data Replication: SteelEye's block-level data replication includes an industry leading 9 levels of compression, bandwidth throttling and WAN optimization, allowing the LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange to make the most efficient use of an organization's communication links regardless of speed or latency.

Continuous Data Replication: The LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange includes real-time CDP with any-point-in-time rewind, allowing users to move back and forth within the data stream to find the optimal recovery point objective.

Flexible Configuration: The LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange provides the most flexible configuration options available, including multi-node support, N+1 support, shared storage support, hybrid shared/replicated storage, synchronous or asynchronous replication and P2V clustering.

Cost Effective: Flexible configuration options allow the SMB to re-utilize existing hardware and SteelEye Data Replication eliminate the need to deploy a SAN to provide both HA and DR protection. In addition, the LifeKeeper Protection Suite for Exchange can protect the 3 main server roles of Exchange 2007, including HUB Transport, Client Access and Mailbox roles, all running on the same server. This eliminates the need to deploy multiple servers for each role - saving companies on hardware, space and power.

Local and Remote Recovery: Local recovery after an application level failure allows Exchange to automatically recover in place in the event of a non-fatal failure, allowing Exchange to be "self-healing", eliminating the need for manual intervention. In the event that Exchange cannot be recovered locally, the standby server will automatically recover Exchange without the assistance of an engineer.

Multiple-Targets: Cascading failover using replication to one or more target servers across a LAN or WAN protects against data loss in the event of local or regional disasters. This also allows users to build both local high availability and remote disaster recovery solutions.
